We re talking about the blob sculpin or the tasseled wobbegong or the aptly named terrible claw lobster.
It is not a hydrozoa or a siphonophore it is described as a mile long black carpet of creatures imagine a stingray hovering over the surface of water but a mile long and composed of strange little tentacle thingies that suck up the nutrients off of the ocean floor and sort of swipe across it.
What we have charted however has turned up some seriously curious discoveries namely.
