Disintegration does not scatter it s a single grand dense continual epic trip into core stuff the cure did well.
I think the cd on the market sounds fine.
The original 89 vinyl sounds really good considering its length for 1 disc but corners were cut to make it work.
So like many others have stated here the pressing plant seems to have done a botched job with these.
Sides b and d have scratchy persistent surface noise throughout the entire sides which you can hear through the music.
The album is crisp and clean.
So i just had to pick up the record and vinyl records have a warmer sound to them being that they are analog vs digital recordings.
While disintegration has my favorite color scheme and cover there is no other cure album with artwork as cool as this.
They d always been good at this kind of album too.
Disintegration is a great album of course but my one star rating here is for the lousy quality of the vinyl.

I own all of the cure on cd including the deluxe box sets but as they say vinyl is king.
